It generates Rotational Force when water flows over it. Due to the fact that the materials required to craft it are easily accessible, the Water Wheel serves as the simplest automatic generator and can be made very early in the game. Total stress capacity can be increased by adding more wheels in parallel. ==Crafting== RecipeTableHead RecipeTableFoot ==Usage== When water flows over a Water Wheel, it will begin to rotate. This rotational power can be conveyed to other Components from the Water Wheels' Shaft. As long as the water flows around the wheel in mostly one direction, the Wheel will generate Rotational Force. ==Appearance== The Water Wheel's appearance can be changed by right-clicking any type of Planks on it. The items will not be consumed. Each texture is automatically generated using the planks and logs of a wood type, allowing for some compatibility with other mods. ==Advancements== {| class="article-table" |+Advancements !Name !Description !Requirements |- |
Harnessing Hydraulics |Place a Water Wheel and try getting it to spin! |Be within 5 blocks when a Water Wheel begins to spin. |- |
Tasteful Power (hidden) |Run a Water Wheel with molten Chocolate. |Be within 5 blocks when Chocolate starts up a Water Wheel. |- |
Magma Wheel (hidden) |This shouldn't have worked. | Be within 5 blocks when Lava starts up a Water Wheel. |} ==Pre 0.5.1== Outdated Section The water wheel has a correct direction of rotation, shown by how the blades are oriented. Water flowing the wrong way around the wheel causes it to produce less rotational speed and stress capacity than if the water was flowing the right way. Having water flowing in the opposite directions might slow down the rotational speed or even stop it. The direction of rotation is counter-clockwise when placed standing, or clockwise when crouching. {| class="fandom-table" |+Water wheel speeds !Sides with flow !Sides against flow !RPM !SU |- |1 |0 |8 |128 |- |2 |0 |12 |192 |- |3 |0 |16 |256 |- |4 |0 |20 |320 |- |1 |1 |6 |96 |- |1 |2 |0 |0 |- |1 |3 | -6 |96 |- |2 |2 |8 |128 |- |2 |1 |10 |160 |- |3 |1 |14 |224 |- |0 |1 | -6 |96 |- |0 |2 | -8 |128 |- |0 |3 | -10 |160 |- |0 |4 | -12 |192 |} Lava can be used as well, but this is not recommended as it produces less power and is quite dangerous, and as such does not comply with OSHA standards. To maximize the output from a Water Wheel (320 SU), have water flowing in the right direction around as much of the wheel as possible, like vertically or horizontally. Water wheels can be placed side-by-side to add together their stress capacities. Water wheels can also be powered by Lava and Chocolate and will grant advancements upon doing so. ===Gallery=== <gallery> Two water wheels.png|Two water wheels powering a mechanical belt with water Waterwheel Stress Demonstration 2.jpg|Water wheel set-ups with various powers generated.
