Usage[edit | edit source]
Transferring Items[edit | edit source]
Chutes can insert or extract from inventories above or below them.
Connected chutes will pass items along, similarly to a Mechanical Belt, though vertically. Chutes can be connected to other chutes upwards and diagonally.
Encased Fan Powered Chutes[edit | edit source]
Items in chutes will be affected by gravity and tumble down to chutes by default. To pull items up, an appropriately powered Encased Fan is needed on top of or under the chutes. For instance, a fan below the chutes would push items up, and a fan above the chutes would pull the items up. The speed of the Encased Fan can change how fast items go upwards.
Splitting & Merging[edit | edit source]
Multiple lines of chutes can merge into one, though the items will not merge into one stack. Without Smart Chutes, Fan powered chutes will initially prefer certain paths before overflowing into other lines if possible. Pushing Fan powered Chutes that split into multiple lines will prefer the straightest path. Pulling Fan powered chutes will draw the items to the powered fan. The airflow and the resulting item speed can increase or decrease as the Chutes merge and split, respectively.
Appearance[edit | edit source]

Chutes can be right clicked with a Wrench to be given windows. Non-diagonal chutes can also be encased with Industrial Iron Blocks - diagonal chutes already appear the same as encased Chutes.
Smart Chutes[edit | edit source]
Smart Chutes behave similarly to Brass Funnels. They can be filtered to only allow certain items through, and be stopped with a redstone signal. Unlike funnels, they can insert and extract at the same time, but can only function vertically.
When directly below an inventory, the Filter slot doubles as a Value Settings diode, much like the Brass Funnel. The Chute can be adjusted to extract up to or exactly a set amount of items. The Value Settings of a Smart Chute will be saved even when the inventory above is destroyed, though this has no effect on the Chute's behavior when not under an inventory.
