Trains are Contraptions that can travel on special railing through unloaded chunks and Nether Portals.

Creation

The following items are needed to create a Train:

Right click placed Tracks with the Train Station, then place the station. Enter the station's interface and create a train. Place Train Casing on the highlighted blue areas of the track to create a Bogey. Regardless of the Bogey's apparent connection to each other, they will become linked as part of the Train. Each Bogey requires at least one block to be attached. The front and back sides of the top part of the Bogey are sticky by default. A Train requires at least one set of forward facing Train Controls. When the Train is ready to be assembled, do so in the station's interface. Using the Station, the Train can now be named.

A Train can only be disassembled when aligned at a Train Station.

Usage

Driving

Right click the Train Controls to take control of the Train. The player's ordinary movement options will affect the Train instead. Hold jump when approaching a Station to properly align the Train. Use the scroll wheel to adjust the maximum speed. Right-click the Train Controls again or sneak to stop controlling the Train. If a Steam Whistle is attached, hold sprint to activate it.

Trains will derail upon crashing with another Train. If the Train is derailed, right click it with a Wrench, then right click a nearby Train Track to relocate it.

Auto-Piloting

Trains can be piloted by a Blaze Burner or Seated mob directly in front of Train Controls. They can then be instructed with Train Schedules. The Train Stations in the rail network must be named differently, or the conductor cannot be properly instructed to navigate to them. If two stations on a network have the same name, the conductor will choose the closest unoccupied one. Conductors will avoid occupied stations. Conductors will only approach a station from the station's specified direction. A conductor's Train Schedule can be changed automatically by inputting one into the Train Station. The Schedule's contents will be copied, though the schedule itself will remain on the station.

Train Signals can be used to further control traffic on the network.
